It's been almost two months since I "went on vacation" from the Healing Feminine, and what a good vacation it has been. The latter half of my summer was full of gatherings, visitors, river trips, and long hot summer days. During August my energy was focused on all things social, but as summer winds down, September has given me the chance to rest, recuperate, and focus once again on my home and family. The garden is abundant with everything, and we are busy preserving things for the fall and winter [picking and freezing berries; canning tomatoes; pickling cucumbers, beans and cabbage].
The days are getting shorter. Saturday we will celebrate the Fall Equinox, and autumn will officially be upon us. I sense the change in the wind; leaves are falling. The earth is brown and dry, anticipating the first rains of fall [as am I - my watering regime is getting tiring]. Our fall crops [broccoli, kale, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, peas] are beginning to take over the garden as the summer crops begin to wind down. Yes, I feel the fall.
It's getting dark now by about 8:00. Every night I am in the house a little earlier, and this tells me that vacation is over. It is time to reap the harvest, to reflect on the accomplishments of spring and summer.
It is time to pull my energy back into myself.
It is time to write.
[Thank you for being back here with me.]
*Blessings and Gratitude*
